scale
The Sun and Mercury spheres would be roughly in scale with each other. As the real Sun is very large it will not be in scale with the sphere representing the other planets, but will stand approx 1200mm, it will be clear it is the Sun and the centre of the solar system and in a suitable position in the landscape. The spheres, representing the other planets and our moon, would be in scale to each other, in size and to distances relationships, using Jupiter as the largest to scale too.
The largest size acrylic dome is 1200mm Diameter and I would use this for the base of the Sun sphere and Jupiter, more volume would be added to Sun sphere to give an impression of the scale and relationship to its neighbours. The rest would use acrylic domes to match the scale.
